FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE

The Silver City Friends of the Library (FOL) is holding its March Book Sale on Saturday, March 8, at the FOL Bookstore, 1510 Market Street, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Hardback and trade paperback books are priced at $1.00 each and paperbacks at $0.50 each. In some cases, books may be priced higher. Weather permitting, clearance item sales take place in the FOL parking lot where visitors can purchase a bag of books or other items (special bags are provided in the parking lot) at $2.00 per bag. There is no limit on the number of bags a visitor can buy.
"Inside the FOL Bookstore, tucked in the corner behind the fiction sections, visitors will find our Vintage Collection Room," said Barbara Guber, FOL Bookstore Manager. "Come browse the many "new" vintage collectible books we received as donations and the recently created collection of young adult audio books. The Vintage Collection Room houses a variety of volumes published as early as the 1800s and fiction and non-fiction audio books on CDs. Collectible vintage cartoon magazines are displayed on special shelves in the bookstore.
Historical Fiction, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Young Adult, Horror, Mystery, Thriller, Classics, Literature and all non-Fiction collections have been refreshed with new selections, thanks to this community's wonderful donors. Visitors will find an entire room in the bookstore dedicated to West/Southwest books, fiction and non-fiction. And, our large collection of fabulous art books and coffee table books await to be taken home and enjoyed."
Guber continued "To make room for all the new donations inside the Bookstore, several genres-cozy mysteries, romance stories, faith- based fiction, westerns, and foreign language books- will be sold in the Parking Lot sale. Visitors can fill up supplied bags with as many or as few of these as they want for only $2/bag. Normally, these books sell for fifty cents to a dollar each, so this option is quite a deal and there is no limit on the number of bags a person can purchase.
This Saturday's visitors to the parking lot will also find over 1,200 sorted, categorized, and labeled music CDs. Most of our children's books will also be sold for $2 per bag in the parking lot, again with no limit on the number of bags purchased."
The next book sale will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025.
The Friends of the Silver City Library invite the public to come and spend a crisp morning and early afternoon, perusing and finding treasures among its vast collection of books and other media, all donated through the generosity of Grant County residents.
The Friends of the Library accepts donations of books from the public and uses these to raise funds to support the Silver City Library's programs and activities. Donations can be placed in the Friends of the Library donation bins outside the Silver City Library main door. These are located to the right of the Library's bin for returning Library books. Mark your calendars for the 2025 Friends of the Library book sales on the 2nd Saturday of each odd numbered month. The next sale will be on May 10, 2025.
And remember, you don't have to be a member of FOL to attend the sale and purchase books.
