Super Snacking with Grant County Cooperative Extension Service

Forest Discovery Day with the Forest Service, the Center for Science and Industry, and Explora!

Saturday, August 23, 1:00pm

Join the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), Explora, and the U.S. Forest Service for an afternoon of fun, hands-on forest activities at the library! COSI will present activities related to their forest science kits, and Explora will present "Planting with Puddles" and other soil-related activities.

Participants will receive a "learning lunchbox." With support from the US Forest Service, COSI and the Forest Service co-developed the Forest Kit. The kit encourages curiosity about how forest work, from tree lifecycles to fire management, while building awareness of the role public lands play in our daily lives. Each Forest Kit includes an activity guide and materials for all activities. The Forest Kit also highlights and explains how many Tribal Nations play a critical role in the preservation and management of our National Forests.
