Bart Roselli, Executive Director of the Silver City Museum, will update the club on programs, events and plans for the museum. Mr. Roselli has a background of education and employment in museum and zoo management.
The museum opened in 1967 as a department of the Town of Silver City. It offers exhibitions, educational programs for all ages, community-wide events, a quarterly newsletter, and a gift store offering regional crafts, local history books, and southern New Mexico souvenir items. It is also a steward for a vast collection of historical objects.
The Rotary Club meets every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. for lunch in the WNMU Student Memorial Building, Second Floor, Sunset Room. There is a brief "meet and greet", a short business meeting and then the speaker has the floor. The club welcomes members of the public to the meetings. Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous non-profit organizations and civic causes in Silver City and Grant County as well as supporting and participating in humanitarian projects sponsored by Rotary International.
