The Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network will be removing dead and dying trees and safety pruning branches at the Murray Ryan Visitor Center during the month of September.   Southwest Tree Solutions, owned and operated by Joseph Franklin-Owens, will carry out the work.

The Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network aims to plant trees and provide technical support to community partners in southwest New Mexico to ensure that our trees are cared for like the valuable resources we know them to be.

We are working in Silver City, Santa Clara, Hurley, Bayard, Deming and Lordsburg over the next five years to grow each community's tree canopy by providing planning, logistics, planting assistance and tree care and maintenance to improve the health of our community trees.

For any questions on the Visitor Center tree work, contact Jacqui Olea, Silver City Community Forestry Liaison for the Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network at 575-519-0575 or Allyson Siwik, Project Director for the Southwest New Mexico Community Forestry Network at 575.590.7619.
