LynneZotalisFebruary 9, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street – "Get Back Up (once more)"

Lynne Zotalis's talk will relate to her book, "Get Back Up (once more)". "

"I find myself struggling, as most of the people I talk to do, struggling to actually have the positive attitude and outlook we need to weather our present societal miasma. Little did I know how prophetic the title of my book would be. We are somewhat adrift, attempting to navigate these complicated seas of confusion. So, every day, maybe every hour, we need to give ourselves a pep talk and find a way to survive and even thrive these next years," Zotalis said.

A pep talk is what she will try to offer the audience, including playing the piano and singing, "Smile, Though Your Heart is Aching."

Lynne Zotalis is an award-winning author and poet. She is the chairperson for the Silver City chapter of the New Mexico State Poetry Society. Her publications include the R.H. Cunningham Short Story Contest, poetry in Tuck Magazine, Glissando, www.writinginawoman'svoice.blogspot.com, and The Poetic Bond VI, VII, VIII and IX. Mysterious Existence is her poetry collection published in 2022.

She is one of the four poets, along with Shelly Barnett, Leonore Hildebrandt, and Pamela Warren Williams, contributing to the anthology "Upward Spiral (poems of opening and renewal)" which was a finalist in the NM AZ book awards.

Zotalis's memoir/creative nonfiction book "Hippie at Heart (What I Used to Be, I Still Am)" published in 2020 won the Firebird Book Award and was a finalist in the Best Book Awards.

"Get Back Up (once more) takes up the narrative after Hippie at Heart, not necessarily a sequel, it does stand alone, but you will recognize characters and situations that will bring you right back onto this bumpy and complicated road, we call life," Zotalis said.

Childcare is available every Sunday. Zoey Cronin will lead a formal children's program on second and fourth Sundays. This Sunday will be a Children's RE program.

Children are welcome to participate on any Sunday, but they will get the most out of the program if they attend second and fourth Sundays somewhat regularly. Family adults may stay for the children's program or attend the adult program. Children are encouraged to bring a small item that represents someone or something they are grateful for that week.
