WNMU Librarian Madeleine Nittmo reads at last year's National Poetry Month celebration, April 16, 2024Western New Mexico University will be hosting its annual National Poetry Month celebration, sponsored by the Humanities Department and Miller Library. The event will feature a variety of poets, including WNMU students, WNMU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Jack Crocker, WNMU Writer-in-Residence JJ Amaworo Wilson, Dr. Gregory Robinson-Guerra, Silver City and Grant County Poet Laureate Professor Heather Frankland, readings from Aldo Leopold Charter School students, and more.
As part of the event, winners of the WNMU Humanities Department Undergraduate Creative Writing Contest will be recognized and invited to read an excerpt from their winning submissions.
