SANTA FE, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public input on a supplemental analysis of applications for permits to drill (APDs) that were challenged in Diné Citizens Against Ruining Our Environment v. Bernhardt, 1:19-cv-00703 (D.N.M.). This supplemental analysis provides additional information and data that are substantive and relevant to BLM's informed decision making and public disclosure process.

In 2023, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit found that the BLM failed to sufficiently analyze the impact of emissions of greenhouse gases and hazardous air pollutants from certain APDs that were approved by the Farmington Field Office between 2014 and 2018. As a result, BLM has reviewed the National Environmental Policy Act analyses underlying the challenged decisions and supplemented those analyses.

The comment period ends Sept. 17, 2024. The supplemental analysis and other documents are available for review and public comment on ePlanning.
