SANTA FE, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on the updated analysis for oil and gas parcels offered in the March and June 2019 lease sales. The comment period ends Jan. 9, 2025.

Although the sales were held in 2019, the BLM was unable to complete Tribal consultation and resolve the protests received at that time. In 2024, the BLM completed an updated analysis, including Tribal consultation, and is now seeking further public input. The BLM will use information from the public to help complete its review of each parcel and determine if leasing of these parcels conforms with all applicable laws, policies, and land use plans.
