SANTA FE – Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham invites members of the public to consider serving on professional boards and commissions that help state government operate more effectively for New Mexicans. Â
These volunteers play a vital role in the regulation and oversight of professional industries in the fields of commerce, education, health, cultural affairs, public safety, the environment, and more. Serving on these boards provides a unique opportunity for residents of New Mexico to learn about the various functions of state government while giving back to their communities. Â
Applicants are currently needed for the following professional licensing boards:Â
Athletic Trainer Practice Board (must reside north of I-40)
Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists
Board of Landscape Architects
Board of Massage Therapy
Board of Nursing Home Administrators
Board of Optometry
Board of Osteopathic Medicine
Board of Pharmacy
Counseling and Therapy Practice
Board New Mexico Real Estate Commission
Physical Therapy Board
Speech Language Pathology Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing Practices Board
State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors
Applicants cannot have a direct or indirect financial interest, nor can they hold a license, in the profession in which they are applying. Qualified applicants will be selected and appointed by the Governor.Â
