Las Cruces-based painter Vicki L. Crouse will design the poster for the 2024 Las Cruces International Film Festival. Crouse's work, a painting to embody the spirit of the festival, will be revealed a poster party in March before the festival begins in April.

A popular local artist, Crouse started selling her paintings at the Farmers & Crafts Market of Las Cruces in 2010. She is inspired to paint everything from cows to sunsets, forests, mountains and anything that touches her heart. Her work has found homes in just about every state in the U.S. and many foreign countries.

The ninth annual LCIFF, April 3-7, is supported by New Mexico State University and Visit Las Cruces.

The LCIFF will reveal the collectible poster at a party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road. The original artwork will be auctioned off at the event. The artist will be on hand to sign limited edition prints. Tickets are $25 and include a signed collectible poster, food, drinks (beer and wine) and music. Discounted VIP tickets will be on sale for $100 at the poster party only.

The five-day festival will be live in-person at the Allen Theatres Cineport 10. VIP passes are $150, All-Access Passes are $75, Day Passes are $25 and admission to the Outstanding Achievement celebrity screening is $25. Tickets are available now at www.lascrucesfilmfest.com .

Festival executive director Ross Marks, a NMSU Creative Media Institute professor, founded the festival in 2016. Marks also teaches a class for NMSU students on how to produce a film festival, and his students gain valuable experience working with him during the LCIFF every year. The event has drawn crowds of more than 10,000 people to the region.
