Santa Fe, NM—New Mexico Film Office Director Amber Dodson announced today that the feature film, "Trap House," is filming in and around Albuquerque.

The production will employ over 100 New Mexicans, including 60 crew members and 100 background talent.

The film will star Dave Bautista ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Jack Champion ("Avatar: The Way of Water"), Sophia Lillis ("It, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves") Kate del Castillo ("La Reina del Sur"), Whitney Peak ("Gossip Girl"), Bobby Cannavale ("The Irishman," "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle"), Tony Dalton ("Better Call Saul"), Inde Navarrette ("Superman and Lois," "13 Reasons Why"), Zaire Adams ("Senior Year"), and Blu del Barrio ("Star Trek: Discovery"). Directed by Michael Dowse ("Goon, Stuber") and written by Gary Scott Thompson ("Fast & Furious" franchise) and Tom O'Connor ("Hitman's Bodyguard"), the film follows an undercover DEA agent and his partner as they embark on a game of cat and mouse with an audacious group of thieves: their own rebellious teenagers, who have begun robbing from a dangerous cartel using their parents' tactics and top-secret intel.

Trap House is produced by Marc Goldberg and Sarah Gabriel of Signature Films ("The Estate," "Marmalade," "Riff Raff"), Michael Pruss and Rebecca Feuer of Scott Free Productions ("Alien: Romulus," "Napoleon, Boston Strangler") with Ridley Scott executive producing, Dave Bautista and Jonathan Meisner of Bautista's Dogbone Entertainment ("My Spy," "The Killer's Game") and Todd Lundbohm of 828 Productions ("Eddington," "The Fallout"). The feature is financed and executive produced by Christian Mercuri's Capstone Studios, Signature Entertainment, Creativity Media and Koala, and Ashland Hill Finance.

"We're thrilled to bring this adrenaline-fueled project to New Mexico," Todd Lundbohm of 828 Productions said. "New Mexico is renowned for its world-class crews, and their passion and expertise are perfectly suited to tackle this project's exciting challenges."

Dogbone and Signature developed Trap House after working together on 2018's actioner "Final Score," which starred Bautista alongside Pierce Brosnan.

The New Mexico film partner program and film tax credit continue to drive the growing film industry in the state, reaching over $1 billion in economic impact for the 2024 calendar year. Economic impact encompasses direct spending on productions, wages paid to crew members and actors, and indirect spending at hotels, restaurants, and other businesses that the industry supports.Â
