Upcoming Events - December 2024

The holidays are just around the corner! We hope you have scheduled time for family, friends, food and fresh air. Check out these upcoming events and get involved. You can see all of the Department's upcoming events on our website.

This is such a great time to get out and enjoy New Mexico’s wonderful wildlife and wild spaces. If you are hitting the trails on an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV), please ensure that you are safe and legal. Check out the video below and RideNM.orgfor more information.

Start thinking about the 2025-2026 hunting season

Now is the perfect time to start planning for next hunting season – including registering for hunter education. Completing hunter education is good for everyone, but is required if you are under 18 before

submitting a draw application or going hunting. Upcoming hunter education classes are scheduled in Farmington, Clovis, Lovington, Albuquerque, Sandia Park, White Sands Missile Range, Jal and Timberon. More classes are listed daily, click here to see the current list of classes. Online classes, including one in Spanish, are also available for anyone age 10 and older. We need experienced, ethical and legal hunters looking to give back to the community by serving as a hunter education instructor. Instructor classes are coming up Dec. 14, in Albuquerque and Jan. 18, in Raton. Click here to learn more!
