New Mexico's Summer Reading Program is an innovative free program set to empower 10,000 students from incoming kindergarteners to outgoing eighth graders with focused reading instruction in small groups with trained literacy instructors. We are looking to recruit literacy instructors and students in every community to participate.

Licensed teachers, educational assistants, pre-service teachers, and both full-time and part-time faculty members are strongly encouraged to apply as literacy instructors, although the application is open to anyone who is interested. Training and professional development will be provided, and literacy instructors will be compensated at $35 per hour over the summer. Please visit Literacy.NM.gov to learn more!

Additionally, if you know of any students and families that may be interested in participating in the state's free Summer Reading Program, please encourage them to sign up at https://www.literacy.nm.gov . Classes will begin as early as June.

Thank you for your help and partnership to bring literacy to children across our state!
