Portales, NM – April 19, 2024- Eastern New Mexico University proudly presents the K through ENMU Juried Art Exhibition through April 27, 2024, at the ENMU Runnels Gallery at the Golden Student Success Center.

"We are delighted to have received so many great entries this year and even more excited to share our selections with the community," says Bryan Hahn, University Curator, and Gallery Manager. "There is such creativity happening with school-aged artists. It's fascinating to see which modes of expression they choose to bring their creative visions to life."

Presented by the ENMU Runnels Gallery, K through ENMU is an annual spring event celebrating art education and the achievements of art students. The juried exhibition is free to enter and open to public, private, or homeschooled students in kindergarten through their senior year of high school.

In 2024, ENMU will present 150+ artwork selections for inclusion in the exhibition. The gallery received numerous submissions from schools and individuals from across the region. Each submission was reviewed using three criteria:

First Impression (how powerful is the first impression?)

Creativity (to what degree of originality and creativity is the work?)

Artist's Voice (is the artist's voice heard and seen in the work, and can their perspective of the world be seen?).

Each division, elementary, junior high, and high school, was evaluated for first-, second-, and third-place awards, and a Best of Show was selected from all submissions.

The exhibition is open seven days a week during the Golden Student Success Center's open hours and is free to the public. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Runnels Gallery.
