New Mexico State University Undergraduate Admissions will host open house events to showcase the university to prospective students and their families. The events offer students and their families the opportunity to connect with faculty, staff and students from across NMSU.
Aggie Transfer Open House, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, is a specially tailored day for transfer students and their families. Aggie Experience is a chance for prospective high school students to step into life as an Aggie. Two options are available and will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, March 14. All the events are free, and online registration is available.
"I hope students and families leave Aggie Experience with a true sense of belonging at New Mexico State University," Director of Admissions Danielle Staley said. "More than just learning about academics and next steps for attending, I want them to see for themselves our commitment to student success, welcoming campus culture, and the genuine care we have for our students. Our goal is for them to walk away confident that NMSU is a place where they will be supported, challenged and encouraged to thrive.
"I hope transfer students and their families leave Aggie Transfer Open House feeling confident and empowered about their next step," Staley said. "This event is designed to show how previous coursework, life experience and goals can translate into success at NMSU. We want students to understand that transferring to NMSU means moving forward with strong support and a community that's ready to help them succeed."
Aggie Transfer Open House is open to all students transferring from outside and within the NMSU system. The event includes an opportunity to meet with faculty and staff from NMSU's academic departments, tour campus and learn about student support services at a student resource fair. Students are encouraged to bring all their college transcripts for admission and unofficial transcript evaluation during the event. Application fees will be waived for students who apply during Aggie Transfer Open House.
"Transfer students often have very specific questions about credits, timelines and programs, and this event allows them to connect directly with faculty, staff and students who can give them the information they need to confidently move forward with the transfer process," Staley said. "Those moments of clarity and reassurance can make all the difference."
Aggie Experience is more than just a campus visit. The event gives prospective high school students a chance to connect with future mentors and see the support services offered. Aggie Experience highlights NMSU's nearly 100 undergraduate programs, perspectives from current students about what it's really like to be an Aggie, hands-on activities, campus tour and resources fair. If students apply at the event, the admissions application fee will be waived.
"Aggie Experience is designed to be immersive, informative and fun," Staley said. "Students can explore academic programs, campus resources, housing and student life in ways that matter most to them. We encourage our visitors to ask questions and take advantage of the opportunity to experience NMSU firsthand."
