WHAT: In its 25th anniversary, the Imagining America National Gathering will be at NMSU, bringing together public scholars, artists, designers, students, and cultural organizers who are addressing the most pressing issues of our time.
WHO: This year's gathering titled "Providing Passage: Practicing the Worlds We Want" is expected to attract about 500 people to NMSU from across the country
WHEN: Friday, Oct. 3 through Sunday, Oct. 5. Register now for this three-day immersive experience. A range of registration rates are available from student-level to professional-level. Early bird discounted rates are available through Aug. 17. Regular registration is open through Sept. 3.
WHERE: Various locations at NMSU including Corbett Center and other academic facilities
VISUALS: Panel discussions, music, food trucks, and a special tour "Along the River and to the Wall," offered at an additional fee for 50 participants, which will begin in Old Mesilla and travel south on NM Highway 28 with stops for discussions Doña Ana Community College (DACC) branch campus at Sunland Park, lunch and dinner at Ardovino's Desert Crossing.
DESCRIPTION: The 25th anniversary of the Imagining America National Gathering is coming to New Mexico State University, bringing together public scholars, artists, designers, students and cultural organizers to address the most pressing issues of our time.
The three-day gathering will include various panel discussions including scholars and community members broadening the scope of our borders, identifying opportunities and exploring the state of affairs in higher education. It also will include music, food trucks and more.
This year's gathering titled "Providing Passage: Practicing the Worlds We Want" is expected to attract about 500 people to NMSU from across the country from Oct. 3-5. A special event "Along the River and to the Wall" after the National Gathering experience is offered at an additional fee for 50 participants (first-come, first-served), with lunch and dinner provided.
