EUNICE— Yesterday, Public Education Department Cabinet Secretary Arsenio Romero resigned from his position, the fourth to do so in the Lujan Grisham Administration. In response to yet another example of failed leadership in regards to educating our youth, Senator David Gallegos (R-Eunice) issued the following statement:

"We continue to be last in the country in education and amidst this drama from the fourth floor of the Capitol, it's our state's youth that are left behind yet again. Not only is this a continuation of failed leadership and high turnover from our Governor's executive staff, but also, I find it hypocritical that while the Governor positions herself for higher office, those on her staff are given ultimatums if their ambitions do not fit the vision of the administration. Again, our children are the ones who pay the price. My hope remains that better days are ahead for the future of our state—our children."
