White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) have posted an alert for Sunday, August 11, 2024. US 70 is scheduled to be blocked one time beginning at 12:25 P.M. This block will last approximately one hour, lifting around 1:25 P.M. The block will be located at BLUE Block (2 miles east of the Owen access road, near Mile Marker 172) and YELLOW Block (near White Sands National Park, mile marker 200). San Augustin Pass and Las Cruces gate are NOT affected by this block; however, Nike Avenue will be affected.

Interstates:
I-25 Bridge Replacement Project, Williamsburg CN1100990
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing construction to replace the bridge at I-25 milepost 75, Broadway Street and NM 187 in Williamsburg. Traffic has been shifted into the northbound lanes with the southbound still closed. The bridge and all on/off ramps are now open to access Williamsburg. Regular work hours will be 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends as needed. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during construction.

I-25 Bridge Rehabilitation, Mile Markers 63 & 139 Caballo/ San AntonioCN1102040R
Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin working on the bridges on I-25 at Caballo (Green Horn milepost 63) and at San Antonio (Walnut Creek milepost 139). This project consists of bridge rehabilitation, erosion control and drainage. The contractor's hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I-25 Erosion Control, Mile Markers 35.2, 35.58, & 43.27 Hatch/Rincon
Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin work on erosion control along I-25 between Rincon and Hatch. The contractor will be working on the southbound off ramp and Rincon (exit 35) and near milepost 43, I-25 may be reduced to a single lane depending on the work location, drivers should be vigilant for construction signing. The contractor's hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 140 to 150, SocorroCN1101930
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 from milepost 140 (Socorro South) to milepost 150 (Socorro North). The subcontractors have begun the replacement of guardrail throughout the project, overnight lane closures may remain in place. Paving is currently in the northbound lanes with possible ramp closures as needed. Motorists can expect lane closure in place 24/7 on both the northbound and southbound driving lanes. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-25 Landscaping Project, Mile Marker 2.5 to 3.7, Las Cruces LC00360
Grass Masters LLC (Contractor) is completing a landscaping, curb and gutter, miscellaneous construction, and paving project along I-25 from milepost 3 to milepost 3.7 near Lohman Ave in Las Cruces. Crews will be on site working on final items around the project. Construction will be on the shoulders with little impact to travelers. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-10 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 0 to 15, Lordsburg CN1102080
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) has completed with the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 10 from milepost 0 (Arizona Stateline) to milepost 15 (Gary) in Hidalgo County. Overnight lane closure may be in place for the placement of the concrete wall barrier and guardrail installations. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

US Roadways:
US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 149 to 150 Las Cruces LC00271
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) is continuing a project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. Traffic on the east side of US 70 with one lane open in each direction. The speed limit is reduced to 35 miles per hour throughout the construction zone. For the safety of the traveling public, the Alameda Arroyo trail crossing remains CLOSED. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends if needed. US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 162 to 150, Las CrucesLC00440
Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing the nighttime roadway rehabilitation project on US 70 from Del Rey Blvd. to Nasa Rd. just east of Las Cruces. Crews will be milling and paving from the town of Organ to Sonoma Ranch Exit working westbound, the driving lane and right shoulder will be closed. During the milling and paving operations, the on/off ramps will have intermitted closures. Working hours will be from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday. Traffic control devices for lanes closures and off/on ramp closures will be in place for the safety of our crews and the traveling public during working hours.

State Roadways:
NM 28 ADA Improvement Project, Mile Markers 27 to 29, Mesilla
A Mountain Construction (Contractor) will be continuing repairing, replacing, and adding in ADA ramps along NM 28, known as "Avenida de Mesilla," spanning from Watson Lane to Stern Drive. Drivers should anticipate occasional closures of shoulders and side streets to facilitate the removal and replacement of concrete at specific intersections. The contractor will operate from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Detour signs will guide motorists around side street closures, which will occur primarily during working hours and will be lifted at night. Following the completion of this phase, nighttime paving operations will commence. Further details on this phase will be provided closer to the start of construction. Completion of this phase is scheduled for Friday, August 16, 2024, subject to weather conditions.

NM 359 Bridge Rehabilitation, Mesilla
AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will continue the bridge rehabilitation project on NM 359 at milepost 1.90 over the Rio Grande. Drivers are asked to please obey traffic control devices if placed and be on the lookout for workers and/or equipment entering and exiting the roadway, various lanes closures may be in place as needed with a flagging operation. The contractor's hours of operation will be 24 hours Monday through Saturday.

Chip Seal Projects, Hidalgo & Grant Co:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be starting the 2024 season "Chip Sealing and Brooming" operations in Hidalgo Co. in and around Animas and Hachita. Speed limits will be reduced, no center stripe with loose gravel on roadway. Please expect delays and a pilot car operation. Roadways listed below are scheduled for chip sealing & fog sealing operations.

City of Las Cruces Projects:
Sonoma Ranch Blvd.
As part of the Sonoma Ranch Mile 1 Construction Project, Sonoma Ranch Boulevard is reduced to one lane in each direction between Sierra Ventana Avenue and Sirocco Avenue while roadway improvements are being completed. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure. Commuters are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to last through August 2024.

• Onramp to I-10 East at Vinton will be closed.
DETOUR: Take SH 20 South (Doniphan Drive), turn right on Talbot Avenue, turn left on Spur 16, turn right on South Desert Boulevard.
• Turnaround from North Desert Boulevard to South Desert Boulevard at Vinton will be closed.
• I-10 East will be reduced to one lane south of Vinton Road. Crews will be replacing a damaged guard rail.

Wednesday, August 14, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• South Desert Boulevard will be closed at Redd Road.
DETOUR: Traffic must turn right on Redd Road.
• Redd Road will be closed between North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard.
DETOUR: Traffic must turn right on South Desert Boulevard. Crews will be placing bridge beams.

Thursday, August 15, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• North Desert Boulevard will be closed at Redd Road.
DETOUR: Traffic must turn right on Redd Road.
• Redd Road will be closed between North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard
DETOUR: Traffic must turn right on North Desert Boulevard. Crews will be placing bridge beams.

40 Hour Closure
Friday, August 16 at 9pm, to Sunday, August 18 at 1pm
• I-10 West will be closed at Vinton Road.
DETOUR: Continue on North Desert Boulevard, and re-enter I-10 past Vinton.
• Beginning at 4am on Saturday, the closure will extend to Artcraft.
DETOUR: Take Exit 8 (SH 178/Artcraft Road), continue on North Desert Boulevard, and re-enter I-10 past Vinton.
Crews will be placing permanent concrete barriers and reopening I-10 West to two lanes.

Advanced warning
Monday, August 19, through Wednesday August 21, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Redd Road will be closed between North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard
EASTBOUND DETOUR: Turn right on South Desert, use the turnaround at Mesa Street to North Desert, turn right on Redd Road.
WESTBOUND DETOUR: Turn right on North Desert, turn left on Artcraft Road, turn left on South Desert, turn right on Redd Road.
Crews will be placing bridge deck panels.

The following closures and detours will continue until further notice:
• The westbound mainlines of I-10 are detoured onto North Desert Boulevard at Los Mochis Drive.
• The eastbound mainlines of I-10 are detoured onto South Desert Boulevard at Los Mochis Drive.
• South Desert Boulevard is closed to all traffic south of Spur 37 (Vinton Road).
• Thorn Avenue is closed to all traffic between North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard.
• Both turnarounds at Redd Road are closed.
• Alternating daytime lane closures are possible on North Desert Boulevard and South Desert Boulevard between Redd Road and Vinton Road.
