Construction projects may be suspended on Monday, September 2, 2024, due to the Labor Day Holiday. Traffic control will continue to be in place 24/7 for the safety of the traveling public. Please follow construction signage and reduce speeds.

White Sands Missile Range Notification

White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) have posted an alert for Tuesday, September 3, 2024. US 70 is scheduled to be blocked one time beginning at 12:25 P.M. This block will last approximately one hour, lifting around 1:25 P.M. The block will be located at BLUE Block (2 miles east of the Owen access road, near Mile Marker 172) and YELLOW Block (near White Sands National Park, mile marker 200). San Augustin Pass and Las Cruces gate are NOT affected by this block; however, Nike Avenue will be affected.

Railroad Repairs
Starting Tuesday, September 3, 2024, BSNF Railroad will be making repairs to the railroad rails and ties at all roadway crossings working south from LaJoya to San Antonio. Starting daily at 6 a.m. various locations will be closed with a detour in place as crews work their way south. Roadway crossing locations will remain closed until repairs are complete. This project is expected to be completed by September 28, 2024. Closures are subject to weather conditions.

Interstates:
I-25 Bridge Replacement Project, Williamsburg CN1100990
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) will be continuing construction to replace the bridge at I-25 milepost 75, Broadway Street and NM 187 in Williamsburg. Crews have restricted traffic on slightly more than one mile of I-25 at Williamsburg to one lane in each direction – northbound and southbound. Both the on-ramp and the off-ramp at Exit 75 remain open. These lane restrictions are expected to stay in place through late fall, when the project is completed. Regular work hours will be 7 a.m. to5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residences during construction. Start planning for traffic pattern changes, coming soon we will be moving traffic into the southbound lanes with the northbound lanes closing to finalize bridge painting. I-25 Bridge Rehabilitation, Mile Markers 63 & 139 Caballo/ San AntonioCN1102040R
Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin working on the bridges on I-25 at Caballo (Green Horn milepost 63) and at San Antonio (Walnut Creek milepost 139). This project consists of bridge rehabilitation, erosion control and drainage. The contractor's hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I-25 Erosion Control, Mile Markers 35.2, 35.58, & 43.27 Hatch/Rincon
Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will begin work on erosion control along I-25 between Rincon and Hatch. The contractor will be working on the southbound off ramp and Rincon (exit 35) and near milepost 43, I-25 may be reduced to a single lane depending on the work location, drivers should be vigilant for construction signing. The contractor's hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

I-25 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 140 to 150, SocorroCN1101930
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 25 from milepost 140 (Socorro South) to milepost 150 (Socorro North). The subcontractors have begun the replacement of guardrail throughout the project, overnight lane closures may remain in place. Motorists can expect lane closure in place 24/7 on both the northbound and southbound driving lanes. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

I-10 Roadway Rehabilitation Project, Mile Marker 0 to 15, Lordsburg CN1102080
Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) has completed with the roadway rehabilitation project on Interstate 10 from milepost 0 (Arizona Stateline) to milepost 15 (Gary) in Hidalgo County. Overnight lane closure may be in place for the placement of the concrete wall barrier and guardrail installations. The contractor's hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

US Roadways:
US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 149 to 150 Las Cruces LC00271
El Terrero Construction, LLC. (Contractor) is continuing a project to make roadway improvements to US 70 North Main Street between Spitz/N. Solano Drive and the intersection of N. Triviz Drive/Elks Drive. Traffic has been placed on the west side of US 70 and the eastbound lanes will be closed for construction. The speed limit is reduced to 35 miles per hour throughout the construction zone. For the safety of the traveling public, the Alameda Arroyo trail crossing remains CLOSED. Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution in the construction zone, obey lower posted speed limits and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Regular work hours are Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-5 p.m., although the contractor may work longer hours or on weekends if needed. US 70 Roadway Rehabilitation, Mile Marker 162 to 150, Las CrucesLC00440
Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing the nighttime roadway rehabilitation project on US 70 from Del Rey Blvd. to Nasa Rd. just east of Las Cruces. Crews will be milling and paving from the town of Organ to Sonoma Ranch Exit, the driving lane and right shoulder will be closed. During the milling and paving operations, the on/off ramps will have intermitted closures. Working hours will be from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday. Traffic control devices for lanes closures and off/on ramp closures will be in place for the safety of our crews and the traveling public during working hours.

Las Cruces Patrol Nighttime Roadway Sweeping
Roadway Maintainers will be working intermittently next week with nighttime operations sweeping frontage roads and bridges. Working hours will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Roadways affected will be US 70, I-25 and I-10. Please use caution for workers and equipment traveling at slow speeds.

State Roadways:
NM 101 University Ave, Bridge Sensor Removal, Las Cruces
Overnight roadway closures in place for bridge sensor removal on NM 101 "University Ave". Starting Wednesday, September 4, 2024, travelers should expect closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes of University Ave. with detours in place. These closures will occur overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as to minimize disruptions to traffic. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, September 6, 2024. The NMDOT apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates your patience.

NM 28 Culvert Replacement Project, Mile Markers 10.1, Chamberino
NMDOT roadway maintainers will be replacing a culvert pipe along NM 28 at Chamberino. Starting Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 9 a.m., NM 28 will be closed from milepost 11 (NM 226, Berino Rd.) to milepost 7.9 (NM 186, W Ohara Rd.) for a culvert pipe replacement, which will take place at milepost 10.1, just north of Chamberino, NM. A detour will be in place both directions using NM 478 to connect NM 226 (Berino Rd.) and NM 186 (Ohara Rd.). The closure is expected to last approximately three days, with NM 28 reopening on Thursday, September 5, 2024. This closure is necessary for the safety of both travelers and construction workers. Please exercise caution in the area.

NM 28 Roadway Improvement Project, Mile Markers 27 to 29, Mesilla
A Mountain Construction (Contractor) has completed the ADA improvements to NM 28. Cutler Repaving (Contractor) is scheduled to begin nighttime paving operations on September 17th.

NM 418 Fencing Project, Mile Markers 0 to 2, Deming
Apache Construction (Contractor) will be installing fencing in the shoulders of NM 418 from milepost 0 to 2 near the Petro Truck Stop. Drivers should be prepared for lowered speed limits and shoulder work signage. The contractor will operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday.

Chip Seal Projects, Hidalgo & Grant Co:
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be starting the 2024 season "Chip Sealing and Brooming" operations in Hidalgo Co. in and around Animas and Hachita. Speed limits will be reduced, no center stripe with loose gravel on roadway. Please expect delays and a pilot car operation. Roadways listed below are scheduled for chip sealing & fog sealing operations.

Sonoma Ranch Blvd.
As part of the Sonoma Ranch Mile 1 Construction Project, Sonoma Ranch Boulevard is reduced to one lane in each direction between Sierra Ventana Avenue and Sirocco Avenue while roadway improvements are being completed. Detours will be in place directing traffic around the road closure. Commuters are urged to follow all posted signs. The entire project is estimated to last through September 2024.

DETOUR: Take Exit 2 (Spur 37/Vinton Road/Westway Drive), continue on Desert Boulevard, and re-enter I-10 past Los Mochis Drive.
NOTE: One lane of South Desert Boulevard will re-open temporarily to accommodate detour traffic during this 56-hour closure. Following the closure, South Desert will close once again south of Vinton Road.
Crews will be placing the bridge deck.

49-HOUR CLOSURE
