Bernie Ruben Chacon, 66, a resident of Silver City, NM, entered eternal rest on Monday, June 24, 2024.  He was born on September 30, 1957 to his parents, Bernardo and Mercedes (Valencia) Chacon in Silver City, NM. 

His favorite hobbies were camping and fishing. He always was a hard worker and an amazing person. He helped anybody and everybody anyway that he could. He led himself down a long hard path most of the time, but he always made his way home. This last year he really enjoyed the fact he could be around more to help and spend time with his father, sisters, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved working with his brother-in-law and doing charity work. His favorite singer at this time was Jelly Roll. He will be extremely missed by so many that crossed his path, but most of all he loved all his family and was very proud of each and every person in some way. 

He is survived by his father; his mother of his children, Jolanda Lopez of Albuquerque, NM; his son, Robert Manuel Chacon of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter Bernadette Maria Giovanni of Grants, NM; his brothers, Steve Leveau (Margo) of Tucson, AZ, David Burris (Rosie) of Dinuba, CA, Marcus Valencia of TorC, NM; his sisters, Olivia Chacon (Leroy Becerra) of Silver City, NM, Nadine Vigil Jiron (Joaquin) of Grants, NM; his grandchildren, Justina Chacon, Gabriel Chacon, Desiree Martinez, Devin Martinez, Kelly King, Bobby Chacon, Elijah Chacon, Josiah Chacon; his great grandchildren, Serenity Perez, Aleah Perez, and Antonio Sanchez;  his numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandson, Enrique Antonio Chacon. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
