Catherine Card Cramer (Borden), 92, went home to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at First Baptist Church, 206 W. Pine St., with Pastor Barney Carbajal officiating.
Cathy was born August 9, 1933, in Hot Springs, NM, to Thomas and Beulah Card (Creamer). She grew up in Deming and graduated from Deming High School. She married James A. Borden in 1951, and together they had four children. After his passing in 1968, she worked for the New Mexico Department of Transportation for over 25 years, retiring as Personnel Officer. In 1993, she married Gilbert Cramer, and together they made their life on their farm west of Deming, until his passing in 2019.
Cathy was a long-time member of First Baptist Church. She served on many committees during that time and enjoyed being in the choir singing praises to our Lord. She loved traveling, camping and being with family.
Cathy is survived by one daughter, Sandi Carbajal (Barney) of Bosque, two sons, Jim Borden (Debra) and Steve Borden (Margaret) both of Deming, step-son Gary Cramer (LeeAnn) of Colorado, two brothers, Tom Card (Nancy) of Belen, and Lewis Card of McKinney, TX. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren with one on the way. Her love and faith live on through each of them and in the many lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Beulah Card, sisters Dorothy Frosch and Alice Turpin, her first husband James A . Borden, daughter Debi Vigil, her husband Gil Cramer and step-daughter Sharon Miller.
