AlmanzaElena Elena "Helen" Almanza, 79, lifelong resident of Deming entered eternal rest on Friday, March 21, 2025 in Las Cruces, NM.

A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Helen will then be laid to rest beside her beloved parents at Mountain View Cemetery. Pastor Obed Rivera will be officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Helen, as she was known by many was born March 16, 1946 in Deming, NM to Ysidro Almanza and Theresa Ramos. Helen was very intelligent and worked very hard throughout her life and did all that she could to provide for her family whom she loved deeply. Especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed family game nights which included some of her favorites like puzzles, bingo and many more. Helen also enjoyed painting on her tablet and loved to sing and dance as well. Her biggest talent of all was that she was an amazing cook. She gifted her talent to her family and friends and all were very pleased with her cooking. Helen was very close to her Heavenly Father and was a strong believer in her faith. She would play her worship/Chistian music every morning as she prepared herself for her day. Helen will truly be missed by many.

Helen is survived by her children, Rosita Chacon (Ernest), Mary Almanza (Michael), Maria Lucero (Norman), and Julian Almanza; 2 siblings, Richard Almanza (Doris), and Linda A. Lucero (Robert); 13 grandchildren, Gilbert, Hermina, Maria Elena, Cassandra, Valerie, Michael Jr., Sofia Elena, Julian Jr., Angel, Adrian, Isaac, Samantha, and Ilianna; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. As well as 2 of her dearest friends, Patricia Mejia and Elvira Garcia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ysidro and Theresa Almanza; her 2 children, Prisilla Ann Almanza, and Florencio "Chito" Lucero Jr., and 8 siblings, Ramon Acosta, Refugio Almanza, Herminia A. Martinez, Vicente Almanza, Ysidro Almanza, Antonio Almanza, Ramon Almanza, and Frances Padilla.
