MadridErlindaOn January 1, 2024, Erlinda "Linda" A. Madrid entered eternal rest peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Linda was born on May 2, 1949, in Columbus, New Mexico, to Edward and Patsy Arenibas.

Linda enjoyed spending time at the Y where she swam and exercised with her friends and was often followed with a friendly lunch. Her favorite hobby was shopping with her sisters, daughter, and goddaughter. Their shopping days were filled with laughs, adventures, and challenges to see who would find the best bargain. Linda almost always won! Shopping trips will never be the same without her. Linda was known for her ability to find solutions for even the most difficult situations. Nothing was impossible for her which explains her favorite scripture…Philippians 4:13, which reads, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Her faith in God was unwavering and was a pillar of strength for her entire family, especially her daughter, Vivian. Vivian was the center of Linda's life and heart, as they shared an inseparable bond.

Linda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Vivian and Albert Gonzales; her brother and sister-in-law Joe and Linda Arenibas; her sister and brother-in-law Hortencia and Johnny Martinez; her brother and sister-in-law Fred and Daniela Arenibas; her sister Irene Arenibas; her sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Carlos Stene; and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Patsy Arenibas; her siblings Edward Jr. and Johnny Arenibas; her niece Teresa Romero; and her nephew, Justin Arenibas.

The following have the honor as pallbearers at Linda's funeral, Raul Chavez Jr., Daniel Duran, John Edward Martinez, Joey Martinez, Carlos Stene, and Justin Stene.
