Evelyn Laurie Lambert, 92, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City. She was born on February 24, 1933 to her parents, Edmund and Laurie (La Croix) Wilson in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Evelyn was a devoted wife of 69 years, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had an intense love for children that started when she raised Harvey, her sister Barbara's son. She had three biological children and adopted another three. Evelyn was unable to stop there so she became a foster mother of over 100 children in and from multiple states.

Her house was always an open space for all the children of the neighborhood. Not a week went by when there wasn't a house full of friends and relatives staying. She spent years preparing and delivering food for families in need.

Children were not the only passion in Evelyn's life, she also loved animals. There was never a point in her life when she didn't have less than three dogs in her home. Cats, cows, horses, chickens, and goats, none of them were excluded from her love.

Evelyn had a fiery soul and a face that had very little composure. As a prophet of marriage, she would inform you of your marriage before you even knew. She will always be remembered by her infectious smile and loving nature.
She is survived by her loving husband, Milo Richard Lambert; her two sons, Richard Kelly Lambert (Kathie) of Silver City, NM and Milo Eldridge Lambert (Marlene Yvette) of Silver City, NM; her daughter, Deanna Hankins (Companion-Kenneth Daly) of Silver City, NM; her eight grandchildren; her fourteen great-grandchildren; her three nephews, Joey Coffee, Harvey Sylvestre and Kenneth Hunte. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 9:00-10:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Silver City, NM with the funeral service commencing at 10:00am with Bishop Will Perkins officiating. She will be laid to rest at Memory Lane following the funeral service. Pallbearers are Milo E. Lambert, Richard K Lambert, Milo R. Lambert III, Kalab Lambert, Richard K. Lambert, Jr., Corey Stempke.
