HAROLD LEROY LACY, 75, resident of Animas passed away Thursday November 28, 2024 at his home.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon, December 9, 2024 from 12 to 2 at Baca's Funeral Chapel where funeral services will begin at 2 o'clock with Pastor Joe Bob Newman officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Deming.
LeRoy was born August 6, 1949 in Delta, Colorado to Harold LeRoy Lacy Sr. and Alene (Grover) Lacy.
He came to the New Mexico Southwest in the 1980's from Socorro. He was a gifted mechanic and also worked as a truck driver. In his spare time LeRoy enjoyed racing either in cars or go karts (which he had added his own mechanics special fuel). LeRoy eventually felt a calling into ministry. He began in nursing homes and officially became ordained in 2004. His ministry led him to Rodeo and Animas where he pastored churches in each and also drove a school bus in the Animas area.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Linda of Animas; sons Frank Lacy (Iwilta) of Winston and Jared Lacy (Tanya) of Deming; sister Phyllis Hicks (Gordy) of Socorro; 2 grandchildren, Orrin and Tyrell Lacy and 1 great grandchild Revell Lacy.
Pallbearers will be Frank Lacy, Jared Lacy, Danny Hicks, Mike Wolf, George May and Edward LaRussa.
