James John McIntire
09-09-1947
Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947 grew up in Staten Island in a full house with his mother and father and 7 siblings. He joined the Navy in 1965 and only served a short time, came back to the states and started a roofing business. Over the years he was a contractor and was a jack of all trades and knew how to fix or build just about anything.
The ultimate handyman was Jimmy Mack. He always worked hard and if you asked anyone, he was the toughest man you'd ever meet, but not when it came to his children, he had quite a soft spot for his kids.
Jimmy moved down to Florida in the 80's and there he continued to be the great father and charming man he always was. Jimmy had his son James Jr. first, many years later he had 2 daughters Caitlin (husband Timothy) and Theresa (husband Austin).
During that time, he stepped in and took Nicole, Eddie and Brittany (husband Brian) under his wing and quickly we were all the center of his world. He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Doreen, and all of his children and even 2 grandchildren, Amaya and Loralye who knew very well how much their grandpa loved them.
Jimmy Mack could walk into a room and people were drawn to his humor, his stories, and his rich dad jokes. He was a master of playing pool, playing any hand of poker, fishing, camping, racing cars, cooking an incredible meal and above all else being a loving father.
Jimmy was the father who would push you to do your best in anything you did whether it was school or sports. He encouraged his kids to do better than him in every aspect of life and loved nothing more than seeing his kids be happy and succeed in life. The impact that Jimmy has made on so many lives goes far beyond his family and friends. He was truly a remarkable man and will be missed more than words can say.
Some people come into our lives and quickly go, some stay awhile and leave deep impressions on our hearts and we are never the same. We will miss you always and love you forever. - Judy Schweiger
