Margaret was born in Santa Rita, NM on May 13, 1936 to Rafael and Carolina Marrujo Grijalva. She was married to Macario Chavez for 67 years who passed away in 2018. She had two daughters, Patsy Sierra who passed away in 1974 and Mary Ann Sedillo (Alfred Sedillo). She had 3 grandsons, Mack Trujillo, Leo Trujillo (Alexa) and James Trujillo (Krisann). She had 6 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brendan, Amaya (Israel), Ahlyia, Brayden and Marcus. She had 5 siblings, Rodolfo Grijalva, Rafael Grijalva, Martin Grijalva, Celia Duran and Carolina Serna. She had many beloved nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, compadres, comadres, and friends.

Margaret gently and peacefully passed away at her daughter's home on Tuesday, January 7th where she had been surrounded by her family every day since August. Margaret's greatest treasure was her family and family time. Her second treasure was her job, she loved the friends and customers she met while working at the local grocery stores (Lucky Market and Furr's). She loved to travel; her and her husband traveled to Europe multiple times, Canada, Mexico and most of the United States. Her two favorite trips were to the "Holy Land," once with a Church Group and the last with her daughter Mary Ann in 2018. Her and Macario even went on a cruise to Canada.

Margaret will be remembered for her classy and elegant personality, hats, gloves, outfits, handkerchiefs and shoes. Ladies planning to attend her service are invited to wear gloves and hats in her honor.

A rosary/prayer vigil will take place on Monday, January 13th at 11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Deacon Art Gutierrez reciting. Concluding service, inurnment will follow at Memory Lane where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Pall Bearers are Mack, Leo, James, Brendan, Brayden and Marcus Trujillo. Honorary Pall Bearers are Louis (Sonny) Chavez, Israel Mathis, Billy Castillo, Andy Acevedo, Albert Lardizabal, John Chavez.
