CasarezOlgaOlga Casarez, 69, entered eternal rest at her childhood home in Bayard, NM. She ended her battle with cancer on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Olga was born at the hospital in Silver City on July 24, 1955. She graduated from Cobre High School and New Mexico State College. She moved to Lakeview, Oregon in 1983 to work for the U.S. Forest Service as an administrative officer. She retired with 31 years of service in 2013. Olga was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church. There she worked on many projects to help her church. She married Mark Klunder on February 2, 1985. They celebrated 40 years of marriage on Groundhog Day 2025. Before retiring and after treatment, she and her husband, Mark, traveled all over the world and went on many cruises. She kept close with her high school and college friends through the years.

Olga was preceded in death by her father and mother, David and Rosa Casarez.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Klunder, of Lakeview, Oregon; her two sons, Adam Klunder of Portland, Oregon and Anthony (Kelli) Klunder of Park City, Utah; and her sister, Carmen (Willie) Hoefler of Russellville, Arkansas.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels. Olga's Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at eleven o'clock in the morning. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
