Olga M. Sera, 87, lifelong Deming resident passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Olga was born September 16, 1936 in Hot Springs, NM, now known as T or C. Her parents were Natividad and Eduardo Medina.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 2, 2024 from 9 to 10 o'clock in the morning at St. Ann's Catholic Church. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited at 10 led by Lucy Villegas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately thereafter at 10:30. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Joe Sera. Officiating will be Fr. Francis Gyau.
Olga was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She was devoted house wife and mother to her four children. Olga had tremendous faith following the words of God and implementing them to her family. Olga was dear to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She had many nieces and nephews loving them all unconditionally. Two special nieces whom she called her sisters, Stella Jasso, and Rosa Sanchez.
She is survived by her 4 children Rachel Baumgartner, Ernest (Nydia) Sera, Delia (Mike Barraza) Marcak, and Annette (Steve) Mauer; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Olga was preceded in death by her parents Eduardo and Natividad; her spouse Jose Sera; 4 siblings Augustino and Mecho Medina, Cecilia Armijo-Gomez and Ruby Candelaria; a grandson Michael Sera and 2 special nephews who she called brothers Dennis Armijo and Manuel Armijo.
Serving as Olga's pallbearers will be Demetrio Candelaria, Evan Mauer, Nick Armijo, Chris Jasso, Thomas Bekefi and Lakota Cruz.
