Roberto "Bobby" Mendoza, a loving brother, uncle, step-father, step-grandfather, and friend passed away November 30, 2024 in Silver City.
Known to his family and friends as Bobby, he was born on October 23, 1930 in Silver City to Victor A. Mendoza and Luisa Flores Mendoza. He was a lifelong resident of Silver City and spent most of his work life at the former Maxwell House store. Bobby was a devout Catholic. He demonstrated his deep faith by his kindness and always optimistic outlook on life. He was loved by his family and many friends.
He is survived by brother Joe Mendoza; nieces Rita Ortiz (Gilbert), Christina Montoya (Michael), Denise Mendoza (Rudy), and Lorraine Montoya-Vigil (Timothy); nephews John McKendricks and Jeff McKendricks; step-children, Helen Salaiz; Richard Valencia, Johnny Valencia, Paul Valencia, Michael Valencia, and George Valencia; several grand nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren; and several great grand nieces, nephews, and step-great grandchildren. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe "Lupe" Mendoza, his parents Victor and Luisa Mendoza, his sister Carmen Montoya, and brother Victor Mendoza, Jr
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10 am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard. The Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 am also at Our Lady of Fatima. Officiating will be Father Martin Okonkwo. The Rite of Committal and burial will be at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery.
