Rosie Villalobos Montez, 77, a resident of Bayard, NM, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 3, 2025 in El Paso, Texas. Rosie was born in Hanover to Concepcion and Antonia (Diaz) Villalobos. The only girl born with 4 brothers. She graduated from Cobre High in 1967. After high school she was employed at Fort Bayard Hospital as a Nurse aide. She purchased her first car, a Ford Maverick, which was per pride and joy. She met and married, Tommy Montez. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her only child, Anthony. They made their home in Bayard, where she continued as a homemaker. She was a care giver for her mother for many years, until her passing. She was then later a caregiver for her husband Tommy in his later years before his passing. Everyone who knew her knew she loved to decorate her house and decorate for every holiday. She loved crafting and quilting, and going to yard sales. She loved to collect memorabilia of Coca Cola, Elvis Presley and Wizard of Oz. Her and Tommy loved to enjoy and were proud of their beautiful yard. She will always be remembered as a loving person, sister and loyal friend. She gave her all to anything she did. Anthony would like to give a special heartfelt appreciation to Chon Jr and Anna Villalobos for being there to help Rosie and Anthony get through their most difficult times.
She is survived by her son, Anthony Montez of El Paso, TX; her brother Benito Villalobos (Julia) of Bayard, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Montez (2022); her brothers, Joe Villalobos, Jesus Villalobos and Chon Villalobos.
Visitations will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 5:00pm-6:00pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Martin Okonkwo officiating. Following cremation, she will be laid to rest at Hanover Cemetery at 4:30pm. Pallbearers are Anthony Montez, Chon Villalobos Jr., Ramon Villalobos, Bobby Villalobos, Angel Arzola.
