QuintanaSalvadorSalvador S. Quintana, a beloved resident of Deming, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024. Born on March 17, 1944, in Fierro, New Mexico, to Pete and Blasa Quintana, Sal lived a life filled with faith, love, and hard work.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Linda Quintana, with whom he built a beautiful life. He leaves behind his children, Michael Quintana and Socorro Prieto (Andrew), nine cherished grandchildren, and 22 adored great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his five siblings and numerous nieces and nephews who held him dear.

Salvador began working at the age of 15 at the Peru Mill in Deming and married Linda Quiroz at 18, embarking on a lifelong partnership. A skilled tradesman and a man of many talents, Sal worked tirelessly to provide for his family. From his days as a mill operator in Grant County to retiring as a Control Supervisor at Chino Mines in Santa Rita, his dedication and work ethic were unmatched.

In his younger years, Sal mastered welding, fishing, rock laying, carpentry, mechanics, and gardening. There was nothing he could not learn, fix, or improve. These skills were matched by his deeply rooted faith and devotion to God, which became the cornerstone of his life.

Sal treasured the simple joys of life: sipping coffee in the early mornings, watching hummingbirds, tending to his yard, and crafting welded sculptures. Afternoons spent on the front deck with a cold beer in hand were his idea of a good day. Football season brought excitement as he cheered for the Denver Broncos with his grandson Salvador, always a loyal fan regardless of the score.

Known for his warmth, generosity, and kindness, Sal had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He was an adopted grandfather to many and a source of wisdom and love for younger generations. His unwavering generosity was a testament to his selflessness, often giving to those in need without expecting anything in return.

In his final days, Salvador's greatest wish was fulfilled: to spend his last moments at home, surrounded by his loved ones and his beloved Linda. His prayers for his great-grandchildren to thrive reflected his enduring love and care for his family.

Salvador is preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and his infant son, Salvador Armando.

The Quintana family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers and condolences during this difficult time.

Salvador's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
