Tamatha "Tami" Gehl Legarda, 55, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her residence. She was born January 4, 1969 to her parents, Michael and Pamela (Allan) Williams, in Silver City, New Mexico.

Tami was a positive light and inspiration in so many people's lives. As a Grant County native,
born and raised, she held many different careers throughout her life. From truck driving to
waitressing to teaching children, Tami did it all. She was an outstanding homemaker and loved
to cook and host gatherings. Much of her free time was spent outdoors camping and enjoying
the company of her husband Rudy, family, and friends. She was incredibly strong in her faith
and her church, Our Lady of Fatima, was like a second home. Her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and God-children were the light of her life and she treated them all like her own.
Her dog Lucy was always by her side and a constant companion. She will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, and community.

She is survived by her husband, Rudy of the family home; one daughter, Martha Muñoz of Bayard; four grandchildren, Luis Angel Muñoz, Daniel Rey Enriquez, Elijah Ray Muñoz, and Rayanna Enriquez; one great granddaughter, Nayeli Muñoz; four sisters, Tanya Renteria and husband Troy of Silver City; Dianne Heddin and husband Brent of Farmington; Rebecca Slocum and husband Gary of Farmington; Stephanie Baugh and husband Chris of Farmington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James Allan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17th, 2024 at 5:00pm-6:00pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Holy Rosary commencing at 6:00pm with Danny Legarda reciting. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 18th, 2024 at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church officiated by Father Martin Okonkwo. Following the mass, she will be laid to rest at Fort Bayard National Cemetery at 2:00pm. Pallbearers are Christopher Allan, Adam Legarda, Luis Angel Munoz, Salvador Legarda III, Troy Renteria, Miguel Legarda. Honorary Pallbearers are Alexander Legarda, Nicole Legarda, Stacey Legarda, Salvador Legarda, Jr., Brooklyn Renteria, Estella Torres, Tanisha Legarda, David Madrid, Jr., Alex Tovar, Jr., Betty Valerio
