* At 136 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was over Luna, Central
Hidalgo and South Central Grant counties.

HAZARD...Less than a quarter mile visibility with strong winds up
to 55 mph.

SOURCE...Law enforcement.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel. Interstate 10 is
closed between Lordsburg and Las Cruces. Motorists
should pull off to designated parking areas in Lordsburg,
Deming and Las Cruces.

* This includes Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 1
and 109.

Spring Canyon State Park, Animas, Cotton City, Sunshine, Pyramid
Mountains, Akela, Hermanas, Windmill, Rock Hound State Park, Camp

Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!

There is no safe place on a highway when a dust storm hits.
Visibility can be lost immediately, making it difficult or impossible
to slow down and avoid stopped vehicles. Delay travel, or safely exit
the highway before the dust storm arrives.
