* Until 715 PM MDT.

* At 418 PM MDT, an area of blowing dust was covering much of
Southwest New Mexico.

HAZARD...Near zero visibility with damaging winds in excess of 60
mph.

SOURCE...Satellite imagery.

IMPACT...Dangerous life-threatening travel. Numerous roads and
highways are closed including interstate 10. Motorists
should pull off to designated parking areas in Arizona,
Lordsburg, Deming, and Las Cruces.

* This includes Interstate 10 in New Mexico between mile markers 1
and 109.

Locations impacted include...
Hachita Valley, Spring Canyon State Park, Playas, Shakespeare,
Carzalia Valley, Lordsburg, Cotton City, Sunshine, Road Forks, Separ,
Pyramid Mountains, Hachita, Akela, Hermanas, Gage, Columbus,
Windmill, Rock Hound State Park, Lordsburg Playa, and Camp Ramsey.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dust storms lead to dangerous driving conditions with visibility
reduced to near zero. If driving, avoid dust storms if possible. If
caught in one, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your
foot off the brake.

Motorists should not drive into a dust storm. PULL ASIDE STAY ALIVE!
