FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest New Mexico, including western
Sierra county and Grant, Luna and Hidalgo counties
* WHEN...Through Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, arroyos, and other low-lying and flood-prone
locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Abundant moisture has moved into far west Texas and southern
New Mexico. This moisture will help fuel scattered to
numerous showers and thunderstorms today through Wednesday.
These storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall
totals of 1 to 3 inches with isolated amounts of 4 plus
inches of rain. The excessive rainfall will produce flash
flooding, especially in and near area burn scars.
