Washington, D.C. - While Governor Gavin Newsom skips out of state ahead of a thinly-veiled 2028 presidential campaign bid, California families are set to pay a lot more at the pump thanks to a one-two punch from his green agenda. According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas prices on the West Coast are poised to spike further following the planned shutdown of two California refineries which reduce the state’s capacity to produce fuel. On top of that, California drivers were hit with a gas tax hike on July 1—and are facing an additional 17 cents per gallon increasedue to green mandates.
Copper Should Be "Made in the USA"
Washington, D.C. - In an effort to put American workers first, President Trump announced new tariffs on foreign copper imports to spur domestic production and and reduce reliance on adversarial nations. The proposal signals a major step toward revitalizing a critical industry that powers everything from national defense to electronics. The move is also in contrast to the Biden Administration, which unilaterally shut down American projects in favor of imported copper.
Washington, D.C. - Today, Power The Future welcomed President Trump’s executive order—which halts federal subsidies for wind and solar energy products— and mandates his administration eliminate tax credits and federal preferences for them. According to the order, the Treasury and Interior Departments have 45 days to make the moves ensuring that all energy sources now must stand on their own merit. Issued on the heels of the One Big, Beautiful Bill, this order will help safeguard national security and help working families.
“For too long, working families were forced to bankroll energy sources that can’t deliver when it matters most,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “This executive order helps end the free ride for wind and solar and begins the process of letting energy sources compete on a fair playing field. Families shouldn’t have to subsidize energy failure with their tax dollars and then pay higher utility bills for the privilege.”
Washington, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives took a historic step toward restoring American energy dominance by passing the "Big, Beautiful Bill." This landmark legislation begins to cast aside the most damaging provisions of the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, repealing costly electric vehicle (EV) subsidies and prioritizing the refilling of the dangerously depleted Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). With this vote, Congress has taken decisive action to end reckless green giveaways and put America’s energy future back in the hands of hardworking families—not bureaucrats.
Washington, D.C. - Today, Iran’s parliament voted to support the closure of the Straight of Hormuz, potentially cutting off the route of 20 million barrels of oil per day. The move would be part of the response from Iran for U.S. strikes against their nuclear weapon sites and is designed to impact America’s oil and gasoline prices.
“Iran is trying to use energy as a weapon, but thanks to America’s energy workers we’re producing more oil than ever and in a stronger position to withstand aggression like this,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “But let’s be clear—our strategic petroleum reserves are still much too low because Joe Biden drained them for political cover. Now that we’re facing international instability, we’re left to face this threat without the additional security of oil reserves. Biden’s legacy continues to weaken us.”
Washington, D.C. - Today, President Donald Trump signed vital legislationthat repeals California’s nationwide electric vehicle mandate which would have effectively banned new gasoline-powered cars by 2035. The measure revokes an Environmental Protection Agency waiver offered to California, and adopted in 11 other states allowing them to bypass federal standards.
“This wasn’t just a California rule — it was a back-door federal EV mandate that working families didn’t want,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “This forced mandate drove up prices and was so unpopular that even when Joe Biden’s party controlled Washington, they didn’t try to pass it. The message is simple: Americans don’t want politicians bought by the green agenda telling our families what to buy or what to drive.”
Washington, D.C. - Power The Future commends Chairman James Comer (R-KY) for his commitment to investigate who was behind Joe Biden’s controversial climate executive orders. Chairman Comer discussed the investigation during an exchange with Power The Future Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner during today’s hearing of the DOGE Subcommittee. Chairman Comer said the findings in Power The Future’s recent investigation, “raise serious questions about Biden’s executive orders and the autopen scandal.”
Washington, D.C. - American oil production set a new record of 13.488 million barrels per day in March 2025 according to information releasedtoday from the Energy Information Administration. This milestone underscores the strength of American energy worker’s commitment to energy dominance.
“This historic achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of American energy workers and the decisive leadership of President Trump,” said Daniel Turner, Founder and Executive Director for Power The Future. “This is further proof that when we have common sense prevail in Washington, our energy workers are able to lead the world in critical energy production. The results will be lower prices and a stronger economy which spells victory for American workers and American consumers.”
