CHAMBERINO/ANTHONY – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One will be reclosing NM 28 for a culvert pipe replacement.

Starting Monday, September 30, 2024, at 9 a.m., NM 28 will be closed from milepost 11.0 (NM 226, Berino Rd.) to milepost 7.9 (NM 186, W Ohara Rd.) for a culvert pipe replacement, which will take place at milepost 10.1, just north of Chamberino, NM.

A detour will be in place both directions using NM 478 to connect NM 226 (Berino Rd.) and NM 186 (Ohara Rd.). The closure is expected to last approximately three days, with NM 28 reopening on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. (See the attached map for details.) This closure is necessary for the safety of both travelers and construction workers. Please exercise caution in the area.
