It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of REYNALDO "REY" MARTINEZ, on January 2, 2025 surrounded by family in Tucson, Arizona. A devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather and Army veteran, Rey lived a life marked by dedication, courage, and selflessness. He was 78 years old.
Rey was born on April 11, 1946, in Lordsburg, New Mexico the son of Jose Abran Martinez and Manuela De La Rosa Martinez.
On March 19, 1965, Rey enlisted in the US Army and served in Vietnam earning among other awards, the VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL, VIETNAM CAMPAIGN MEDAL (with device), COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE and GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL.
Rey was a loving and devoted husband to Lorenza "Lorrie" (Bejarano), father to Joseph (Terry), Andy, AnJanette (David), and Melanie. He was an adoring Grandfather to Candice, Stephanie, Linda "Kita", Damon, Marc, Julian, Lorena, Emilio, Jacqueline and Andres; Great Grandfather to Braylon, Kellen, Kierdan, Noah, Luis and Camila.
John Henry Fowler was born on January 2, 1933 in Silver City NM to William A (Ott) and Ruby Rothwell Fowler. He is survived by his daughter Vicky (Martin) Wright of Silver City, grandson Erik (Shannon) Wiest, great granddaughter Emma Deby Wiest all of Phoenix AZ, brother Ray (Lorie) Fowler of Beaverhead NM and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debra L Wiest, brother William R Fowler, brother Floyd T. Fowler, brother Danny Jo Fowler and a number of nieces and nephews.
John learned his favorite lifelong passions at an early age being raised in logging camps. He learned very young how to drive trucks and all large equipment as well as cowboying and rodeo. John 's first job was in 1949 driving log trucks from his father's sawmill to the smelter in Hurley then for the railroad for a brief time where he worked the Rincon run. In 1953 John was drafted into the Army where he was sent to Georgia for boot camp and he spent two years in service then six more years spent in the reserves. Once in the army they learned he could drive a Truck so he was assigned to teaching others to drive trucks.
Frank Moises Ogas, 64, a lifelong resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest from Major Neurocognitive Disorder, on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Silver City Care Center in Silver City, NM. He was born on August 15, 1960 to his parents, Elijio and Margaret (Martinez) Ogas in Las Cruces, NM.
Frank had earned an Associate's Degree and worked mostly as a Journeyman Plumber. He was a member of the Royal Impressions Car Club and also loved fishing, camping and riding his Harley was his therapy. He was an avid Steelers Fan. We are grateful for all the doctors, nurses, therapists and caregivers that helped him with his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi Ogas; his mother; his one son; his one daughter; his brothers, Steve Ogas (Vicky), Tom Ogas (Amy), Orlando Ogas, Leo Ogas (Leona); his sisters, Anna Madrid and Martha Medrano; his four grandchildren; his numerous nieces and nephews; his two Godchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; his infant brother, Tommy Ogas (1957).
Mary Ann Sykes, 91, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest on Monday, January 6, 2025 at Silver City Care Center, in Silver City, NM. Arrangements are pending with Terrazas Funeral Chapels ~ 575-537-0777.

Dolores M. Garcia, 87, of Santa Clara passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Genesis Silver City Care Center. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels.

Luisa Montaño Quarrell, 92 years of age, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Fort Bayard Medical Center in Santa Clara, NM. She was born August 19, 1932, to Eusebio and Maria Montaño in Deming, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio, and Maria; her brothers, Anthony, Manny, and Ralph Montaño; her sister, Lola Valverde, and her son, Mike A. Quarrell. Luisa is survived by her sons, Eddie, Danny (Bernadette) and Frankie (Betty) Quarrell all of Silver City, NM; her younger brother, Victor "Chapo" Montaño of Deming, NM and her baby sister, Annie (Freddie) Camuñez of Concord, CA and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.
Luisa was very proud of the fact that at 54 years of age, she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western New Mexico University in May of 1987. She was employed, until her retirement, with the Cobre Consolidated Schools as a school social worker within their Special Education Department.
