Museum Members Get Front Row Seats!
Alamogordo, New Mexico – The International Space Hall of Fame Foundation is pleased to announce that the City of Alamogordo's July 4th fireworks show returns to the New Mexico Museum of Space History grounds, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States and kicking off the 50th anniversary of the museum.
"In 1978, city leaders and Museum of Space History founders started the tradition of hosting the city's annual July 4th fireworks show on the grounds of the museum and we are delighted that this long-standing partnership continues in 2026," said ISHFF President Johnny Powell. "The City's fireworks show for America's 250th shows their commitment to our community and to celebrating our country's anniversary," he added.
LAS CRUCES – New Mexico agricultural businesses can now apply for funding to hire paid interns through the state's Agricultural Workforce Development Program, which reimburses up to 50 percent of internship costs to help develop the next generation of farmers, ranchers and agricultural professionals.
Eligible businesses may be reimbursed up to 50% of actual internship costs, with a cap of $15,000 per intern. Each internship must total at least 130 hours, and businesses may apply to hire up to three interns per year. Interns must be at least 18 years old. While New Mexico residency is preferred, it is not required.
Reducing the Risk of Human-Caused Wildfires
Albuquerque, NM – June 15, 2026 –The Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands will implement Stage II Fire Restrictions on the Mt. Taylor Ranger District beginning Thursday June 18 at 8:00 a.m. due to increased fire danger.
The purpose of this Order is to reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires during periods of high fire danger and severe fire weather conditions.
This Order (03-03-02-26-09) will be in effect on June 18, 2026, at 8:00 AM, and shall remain in effect until August 31, 2026, at 8:00 am or until rescinded, whichever occurs first. See Map attached.
$7 million in awards reaches programs across 20 counties statewide
SANTA FE — New Mexico is funding jobs and hands-on conservation training for more than 600 young people this year, awarding nearly $7 million to 38 programs across 20 counties.
The New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps Commission (YCCC) has awarded $5.89 million to 38 public-benefit programs for youth across 20 counties, with an additional $1.1 million in matching funds. The awards will create employment for more than 600 young people ages 14–25 across the state.
SANTA FE, NM – The New Mexico Department of Health is alerting the public to stop use of any Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic infant formula products immediately after the product was linked to three infant hospitalizations and recalled nationwide.
The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) issued the alert following a Saturday, June 13 recall by Nara Organics of all of its Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula sold nationally in Target retail stores, Target.com and Nara.com. The recall was initiated after the product was linked to three cases of infant botulism in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continuing to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Conditions are subject to change without notice. Double fines for speeding in work zones may be in effect.

LAS CRUCES — White Sands Missile Range has scheduled a road closure on U.S. 70 for Monday, June 15.
U.S. 70 will be blocked one time beginning at 9:00 a.m. This block will lastapproximately one hour, with the closure lifting by 10:00 a.m. The closure will be located at the Blue Block, 2 miles east of the access road at mile marker 172, and at the Brown Block at mile marker 192.
San Augustin Pass and the LC Gate will not be affected. However, Nike Avenue will be affected by the closure.
