Washington, D.C. - In a late Friday announcement, the Biden Administration committed to buying 3.3 million barrels of oil to begin refilling America's Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR.) This effort will fill about 1 percent of the reserve President Biden has drained during his time in office, and it will be purchased at a price of nearly $80 a barrel. That price tag is much higher than the proposed cost of $31 a barrel when former President Trump proposed refilling the SPR in March 2020 in order to take advantage of low prices. That effort was stopped by Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who called the purchase a "bailout for big oil."
Albuquerque – Last week, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham proudly announced the purchase of a new $1.8 million electric fire truck. However, according to a new report, the Governor's fire truck is equipped with a diesel engine for times when the electric batteries run out. The fossil-fuel engine was overlooked in the Governor's press release celebrating the "zero emission" vehicle.
"This truck is the epitome of all so called ‘green' products because there is no way it would exist or be functional without fossil fuels," said Larry Behrens, Communications Director for Power The Future. "Electric engines are simply not up to powering a simple road trip, much less taking on a role as critical as public safety. The diesel engine is proof positive that renewables would not exist on their own accord."
Washington, D.C. - Today, Power The Future Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner issued the following statement in response to President Biden's announcement imposing tariffs on China:
"This desperate flip-flop should be seen as an admission from President Biden that his EV push is a failure. The Biden Administration has stood in the way of mining for EV metals in the United States while American EV manufacturers continue to face layoffs, all consequences of forcing something into the market that our families don't want. This move is nothing but President Biden working to protect his green friends."
Washington, D.C. - Today, Daniel Turner, Executive Director and Founder of Power The Future, issued the following statement in response to the new series of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules:
Albuquerque – In response to Governor Lujan Grisham's announcement about $156 million in taxpayer dollars for solar in New Mexico, Power The Future Communications Director Larry Behrens released the following statement:
"It's nonsensical for the Governor to call this plan ‘affordable' while admitting at the same time New Mexico needs $156 million in taxpayer dollars to afford it. The cost of electricity, along with everything else, continues to skyrocket in New Mexico and no amount of bailout money from Washington will change that fact. If the Governor really wanted to make a difference, she would abandon her forced climate agenda and let people choose through the free market. However, she'll never do that because it's clear the people aren't choosing what she wants."
Washington, D.C. - In order to recognize the life-saving work of America's coal, oil and natural gas workers, Power The Future is declaring April 22 as the first "American Fossil Fuel Workers Day of Visibility" with a multi-faceted digital ad campaign.
The campaign consists of a proclamation, as well as mobile billboards circling the White House and National Mall where Earth Day demonstrations are planned. An image of the billboard is available below.
Washington, D.C. - Despite rising inflation and increased chaos in the Middle East, President Joe Biden issued a new rule increasing the costs on American oil production late Friday. In the last month alone, the average cost for a gallon of gas has increased 20 cents a gallon while the Biden Administration cancelled plans to refill a small portion of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR.) With continued instability in the Middle East, the SPR remains at 364 million barrels — nearly half of what it was when President Biden took office.
Washington, D.C. - In the same week they learned inflation is continuing to grow higher than expected, the Biden Administration announced today they will raise fees on oil production. The announcement arrives as the cost of gas at the pump continues to rise and American oil production falls by nearly 800,000 barrels of oil a day.
