The New Mexico State Fair is now taking applications for the Original Green Chile Cheeseburger Challenge. New Mexico restaurants will have until June 21 at noon to apply for a chance to compete to win the prestigious title of "New Mexico State Fair Green Chile Cheeseburger Champion." Eight restaurants will be selected to compete.
As has become an annual tradition at the New Mexico State Fair, the New Mexico State Fair's Original Green Chile Cheeseburger Challenge is slated for Monday afternoon, Sept. 9, in the Agriculture Building Courtyard. The event promises to be an extraordinary culinary experience for the competitors, judges and participants.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) and U.S. Representatives Teresa Leger Fernández (D-N.M.), Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.), and Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.) are welcoming the U.S. Department Health and Human Services' (HHS) selection of New Mexico into the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Medicaid Demonstration Program. The program provides states with funding to expand access to mental health care and substance use services. Â

Courts, Corrections & Justice Committee to Hold Additional Meetings to Prepare for Special Session
Beginning June 5, the committee will discuss potential policy proposals for upcoming special session with subject matter experts
Santa Fe, N.M. – Tomorrow at 10 a.m., the Courts, Corrections & Justice Committee (CCJ) will hold the first in a series of interim meetings to consider policy proposals for the upcoming special session that begins July 18.Â
The 7th edition of the Next Generation Water Summit (NGWS) takes place June 20 – 21, 2024 in Santa Fe, NM. The annual event is offered in a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual attendance options. The 2024 theme is "Solutions in a Changing World".
The New Mexico state capitol building, known as "The Roundhouse," will host professional sessions on both Thursday and Friday. A New Mexico-focused third track joins the agenda on Friday, June 21. The NGWS sessions primarily address regional water challenges.
LAS CRUCES – A new court-based initiative will help guide people with severe mental illness to appropriate treatment and away from the criminal justice system when they are arrested for misdemeanor offenses in Doña Ana County.
Court and county leaders today announced the competency diversion pilot project in the Doña Ana County Magistrate Court that will focus on adults charged with misdemeanor offenses, such as trespassing and petty theft, who have a history of mental illness and previously have been found incompetent to stand trial on criminal charges.
