Santa Clara negotiating with The Commons

The Village of Santa Clara held a meeting June 13, 2024. Mayor Arnold Lopez called the meeting to order. Mayor Pro Tem Albert Esparza, trustees, Olga Amador and Peter Erickson attended. Ralph Trujillo didn't attend.
Mayor's report
Lopez said the next day would be the first music in the park and they will be having root beer floats. He asked everyone to come and meet the council and employees of the village. It will be a way to kick off the summer.
Silver City talks about trash

The Silver City Town Council held a regular meeting June 11, 2024. Attendance to the meeting included Mayor Ken Ladner, Mayor Pro Tem Guadalupe Cano, Rudy Bencomo, Nicholas Prince (phone), and Stan Snider.
Proclamations
The Town of Silver City proclaimed the week of June 17-23, 2024, First New Mexico Bank Wild Wild West Rodeo week. Ladner went over the rich history of rodeo in the southwest. The rodeo will be celebrating 32 years in Silver City and will be presented by the Southwest Horsemen's Association and Casper Baca Rodeo Company.
Bayard looks at affordable housing opportunities

The town of Bayard held a regular meeting June 10, 2024. Attendance included Mayor John L. Ojinaga, Pro Tem Eloy Medina, councilors, Eloy Gonzales, and Frances Gonzales. Gilbert Ortiz didn’t attend. Martha Salas, city clerk/treasurer also attended.
The council held a work session. Priscilla Lucero, director of Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments, attended to address the list for their ICIP (Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan). The top five will be the most important and be looked at for funding. They do this plan each year and turn it into the state.
