MAY 23—Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution by a vote of 262-143 to repeal The Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022, which controversially allowed non-U.S. citizens including illegal immigrants, to vote for local public offices in the District of Columbia.Â
Democratic New Mexico Representatives Gabe Vasquez and Teresa Leger Fernandez shamelessly voted against the resolution, adding to their extreme, open-border voting record.
In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Conditions are subject to change without notice. RUIDOSO – Bonito Lake will reopen to anglers Saturday, May 25, after more than a decade of being closed. The lake, which is owned by the City of Alamogordo, filled with sediment after the 2012 Little Bear Fire. The City has undertaken extensive efforts to remove the sediment and restore the lake.
In April 2024, there was an 15.91% increase in home sales in New Mexico compared to the previous month. Up 7.90% from April 2023 sales, these figures indicate a 5.95% increase in the median sold price on a year-overyear basis. Compared to March 2024, the April median sold price in New Mexico increased by 3.03%. Active listings have increased 18.68% compared to this time last year.

2024-2025 Wildfire Risk Reduction Grant Program Recipients
SANTA FE, NM - New Mexico Counties awarded over $530,000 to 11 grant recipients for community wildfire protection plan updates, fuel reduction treatments, and education efforts through the 2024-2025 Wildfire Risk Reduction Grant Program. Grant recipients include Ciudad Soil & Water Conservation District (education & fuel), Dixon Community Fire District (education), East Mountain Wildfire Preparedness Association (education), Grant County (education), Otero County (fuel), Pojoaque Soil & Water Conservation District (CWPP update), Socorro County (CWPP update & fuel), and South Central Mountain RC&D Council (education & fuel). The collaborative vetting process included the Bureau of Land Management, Forest Stewards Guild, NM Counties, NM Department of Game & Fish, NM Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, NM Forestry Division, NM State Land Office, and US Fish & Wildlife Service.
SANTA FE, NM – The New Mexico State Parks Division is being recognized by the National Safe Boating Council as a valuable partner in organizing and smoothly executing the 2024 International Boating and Water Safety Summit (IBWSS) held the week of April 8th at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Albuquerque.
